Joburg Theatre’s management team adheres to the principle of offering the theatre’s patrons a “great night out”. Although showbusiness is our core business, we want to make a visit to Joburg Theatre as memorable as possible. Added value - in the form of safe and secure parking, easy ticketing solutions, service-oriented and affordable restaurant and bars, welcoming and helpful front-line staff members - is essential in order to create a ‘theatre of choice’ for our patrons. And the exclusive five-star hospitality experience we offer to surround your visit to one of our shows has become, over the years, a major contributor to the success of Joburg Theatre and our having received the accolade of BEST THEATRE COMPLEX IN JOBURG from the Leisure Options’ Readers Choice Awards for the twelfth consecutive year! Joburg Theatre has eight hospitality venues available for exclusive hire. They range from ten-seat dining rooms to 200-capacity cocktail lounges - each one offering a different and unique entertainment choice. You may entertain your guests formally or informally by inviting them to dinner prior to the show, coffee and chocolates during the interval and after-dinner drinks once the show has ended. Or just use the room as your own private bar for the evening. Headline Leisure Management (HLM) - the country’s top, award-winning bar services provider - has its own management team resident at Joburg Theatre and holds an exclusive service agreement for beverages within the complex. Our hospitality team will introduce you to HLM and its representative will discuss and arrange all your beverage needs. Please note that - in order for the theatre to provide a consistency of service in this regard - no beverages can be served or brought into the complex (including sponsored drinks) without placing the arrangements through HLM. We have our own, experience-based list of preferred caterers for your culinary requirements in our hospitality rooms, but you are welcome to provide your own caterers should you wish. Don’t forget that these rooms are also available for hire during the daytime to use for company workshops, board meetings, private lunches, seminars, award presentations, media conferences, etc. Joburg Theatre maintains a top-level team of professional hospitality experts, who will discuss and arrange your every need and personally supervise your function from beginning to end. THE BROADWAY A glamorous dining room seating up to twenty, with its own cocktail lounge and sofa area.

THE OFF-BROADWAY A dining room seating up to ten and reminiscent of a private club, with its own cocktail lounge and sofa area.

THE MANHATTAN A sister dining-room to The Broadway.

THE P T BARNUM A stunningly theatrical private lounge full of red velvet and named appropriately after one of the greatest showmen of all time, The P T Barnum has direct access to the theatre’s very popular 22-seat VIP Box of The Mandela. The lounge can be hired with or without the seats in the VIP Box and is multi-functional for cocktails and buffet dinners. It has its own bar and toilet facilities.

THE PENTHOUSE Look over the amazing Joburg City skyline and the splendour of the Theatre Gardens from The Penthouse, accommodating 70 in banquet style dinner service or up to 150 for cocktails and buffet meals. The Penthouse has its own separate bar area and full kitchen facilities linked to the fully adaptable, tiled room.

THE BRICKHILL Named and designed after South Africa’s Leading Lady of Musical Theatre, Ms Joan Brickhill, this special armchair and sofa furnished lounge also permits patrons to smoke, subject to the function host’s wishes.

THE JOZI The Jozi is located right in the centre of the theatre’s marble foyer and provides a buzz of entertainment possibilities surrounded by an artist’s unique impression of the City of Joburg itself!

THE WEST END The newest addition to Joburg Theatre’s hospitality areas, The West End is also the largest - accommodating up to 200 guests for cocktails and buffet dinners. The West End overlooks the magnificent theatricality of The South African Ballet Theatre dance studios and has its own private terrace under the South African skies. A completely adaptable function space, The West End offers total privacy and direct access from the theatre’s underground parking facilities.
