Joburg Theatre is operated by Joburg Theatre (Pty) Ltd, a Municipal Entity of the City of Joburg.

This corporatised entity is overseen by a Board of Directors, comprised of leading business, marketing, human resources, financial and entertainment industry specialists living in Joburg.  The Board of Directors is appointed by the company’s sole shareholder, the City of Joburg.

Bernard Jay, the company’s Chief Executive Officer, has headed the theatre’s Executive Management Team since July 2000
